The founding idea

What Fatiman’s Street is

A salon for Black women. Writers post essays, poems, short stories, chapters of serial novels. Artists post photographs, illustrations, and visual work. Readers respond to the work itself, passage by passage, not to a comment section. There is no algorithm. There are no paywalls. There are no visible metrics. What’s on the page is the work.

Not a newsstand. Not a feed that ranks you. Not a place that sells your attention. Not a platform for AI-generated work. Not a scroll.

Fatiman’s Street is not open yet. The house is still being built. Leave your email and you will be told, once, when the doors open. That is the only message you will receive from this list. After the launch announcement, it goes quiet.

Writers and artists who want to be considered for the seeded opening can say so on the form. The first fifteen to twenty-five seats are being filled by hand.
